I thought internet based phone (VoIP) calls would be free?
In theory, calls made completely through the internet have little or no cost. However, until all telecom users adopt VoIP, a large percentage of your call recipients will answer through a landline or cellular phones, and such calls have to complete via a traditional phone network. Because of this, the VoIP Company has to pay termination charges to the phone companies. Ultimately, you are responsible for these termination charges. Even with these charges, VoIP usage is less than traditional telecom service. Multiple location accounts benefit since all calls between locations are free.
From where can I use my VoIP service?
